WarnFeet technology
WarnFeet is a connected insole designed to detect abnormal pressure and temperature changes responsible for diabetic foot ulcers. Thanks to a network of piezoelectric sensors embedded in a flexible material, it operates without a battery, harvesting energy from footsteps. Each movement generates electricity and data, ensuring continuous, autonomous monitoring without recharging.
Piezoelectric sensors
Piezoelectric sensors are at the heart of WarnFeet technology.Integrated in the form of interwoven strips, these sensors generate an electrical signal when compressed or stretched by foot pressure.
This signal allows you to :
- map pressure and heat zones
- generate the energy needed to send data to the smartphone, without the need for a battery.

Cross-shaped operation
Sensors are arranged in a criss-cross network, in two directions: longitudinal and transverse.Warnfeet contains 25 cross-arrayed sensors (10X15) giving 150 measurement zones.
When the foot presses down, the sensors at the intersection send a strong, immediate signal, while the adjacent sensors send a delayed signal.
This set of phase shifts enables the impact to be precisely localized, like a GPS underfoot. This precision is essential for anticipating areas at risk of ulceration.
Detecting diabetic foot ulcers
Precise visualization of shape and pressure zones, accessible in the application to better spot warning signals and prevent the onset of ulcers.
Real-time detection of abnormal variations, major risk factors for diabetic foot ulcers.
Instant data transmission to the app and sharing with healthcare professionals for optimal monitoring.
Incompressible silicone
The sensors are embedded in a flexible but incompressible silicone structure. This choice of material allows :
- mechanically amplify the electrical signal (up to x10)
- ensure optimum comfort without loss of sensitivity
As the foot sinks, the silicone causes the bands to stretch, increasing their piezoelectric response and guaranteeing better detection of micro-pressure changes.
