French Tech Winner: This Startup Invents the Insole of the Future

Romain Deixonne présente la semelle du futur Solecooler, une semelle chauffante et rafraîchissante récompensée par la French Tech

Solecooler, a startup based in Perpignan, made a strong impression during the Train French Tech winning the grand prize for innovation. Its flagship product, the insole of the futurecaptivated the jury thanks to a groundbreaking technology: completely electronics-free,. In practical terms, this unique innovation naturally warms or cools the feet, depending on the wearer’s movement.

A French Innovation That Wins Over the Jury

The final pitch by Romain DeixonneSolecooler’s Marketing Manager, at Toulouse Business School, left little chance for the other finalists. Startups from Montpellier, Toulouse, Béziers, and Perpignan struggled to compete, as this innovation stood out for its originality.

It’s an incredible honor to receive this award, but above all, it’s amazing to see how our solution has been recognized worldwide over the past few months.

The concept, created by Bruno Aubert, is based on an ingenious mechanical principle. This technology, electronics-free, redefines shoe comfort. The insole is designed for athletes, active professionals, and people sensitive to temperature variations.

What we created after two years of research is the first thermoregulating silicone insole. Thanks to walking motion, it can warm the foot by +3.5 °C or cool it by –4 °C.

Global Recognition for Solecooler

Since late 2022, over 2,000 pairs of ClimFeet insoles have been produced. The startup has continued to gain attention, including an invitation to the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, a global hub for innovation.
In 2023, Solecooler won the Gold Medal at the Lépine Competition, followed by two international trophies in Munich and Barcelona.

These successes confirm Solecooler’s place as one of the most promising players in French Tech.

Interest from Industry Giants - Even the U.S. Army

The success doesn’t stop there. Major companies such as Suez and Geodis have already expressed interest in the insole of the future.
Even the U. S. Army is exploring this technology, which can improve thermal comfort in all conditions.

In short, a french success story is well underway. Solecooler demonstrates that innovation, sustainability, and performance can go hand in hand, while putting Perpignan on the global map of sustainable tech.
